Chances are you�ve seen an Hawley retainer. Traditional wire retainers, they�re the kind you always see in movies and TV shows, getting thrown out on cafeteria trays. Hawley retainers have acrylic bodies molded to fit the top and/or bottom of your mouth, and metal wires to fit over your teeth. They are supposed to be worn continuously for a set period of time, then can be worn just at night.
